I think I have it..and I’ve had it for a year or two. It wasn’t caused by stress, just caused from waking up early, yawning an enormous yawn, then *crack* there it goes, and I’ve had it ever since.
Right now, there’s cracking noises and popping noises, and it gets stuck on the right side sometimes, and I have to go back and unlock it, and I’ve been getting horrid toothaches lately, but that might be because of my molars…(I still have my baby molars) the permanent molar (two teeth back from the incisor) is pushing in and my baby teeth are being pushed inward(both sides). And I have an uneven bite because of those molars. Also I’ve been getting shoulder pains and headaches, but that’s probably because of the fever I had a day ago, I still feel a little weak from that.
So should I wait for braces? Because I’m moving to Korea in a month, and I’m going to get braces then. I went to my doctor and she said there’s nothing to worry about, but there’s definetely something wrong with my jaw…

It sounds like you are clenching your teeth at night. It’s extremely common in females. The clenching starts at a very young age (I know I did it since at least age 8- my teenager started about age 3!). Anyway, the symptoms you describe are classic. get your braces, then afterwards, consider a nightguard called NTI-tss. They’re awesome
my sister had TMJ and she goes to a special physical therapist that deals with TMJ. and she said it really helped her!
i would give it a try if i were you it could only help.
There really isn’t a cure for TMJ. Sounds like you have some of the signs and symptoms. TMJ can definitely make you feel as though you have a tooth ache. once i went to 4 dentist because i was convinced it was a tooth, then I thought an ear infection because the ear was popping and plugged. I was finally told it was TMJ. I felt as though somebody had taken a cast iron frying pan and smacked me on the left side of my face. I cried for days and was flat on my back. I no longer eat things that are really crunchy as that will trigger it. My last episode lasted for three months.
You can try motrin. You can try ice and heat on the jaw. I used Aspercreme and also put numbing medication on my gums. massage it lightly and stay will soft food.
Hope that helps.
