I have been having a lot of pain in the left side of my jaw, I know it isn’t my ear, I know it isn’t my teeth. but the pain is there and there is always a clicking sound when I chew. I am pretty sure it is TMJ. I, however have no idea what to do about this. I am 3 months pregnant so there isn’t much I can take. If you have any home remedies that are safe to do when I am pregnant to stop the pain please let me know. Thank you so very much!

My jaw used to click as well. I asked my dentist about it… he told me that it was TMJ, and the cause was STRESS. I was totally blindsided by what he said. I researched it more, and everything I found said he was right. I’m guessing pregnancy qualifies as “stress”.
Sorry, but I don’t really have any suggestions for helping it. Maybe try to relax the best you can… I know that’s probably hard to do when you have a fetus inside of you.
Best of luck
I went through a great deal with TMJ years ago. There is a lot you can do even though you are pregnant. First, you must relax your jaw, especially before bedtime. You can massage it, inside and outside, opening it gently (not fully). Don’t eat chewy, hard or overly crunchy things. Limit stress. Don’t drink anything with caffeine. You can also obtain a night guard, so you won’t grit your teeth making things worse.
Be careful, many doctors will charge lots of money for different treatments, most unnecessary and even harmful. Try to avoid surgery at all costs. I opted for realigning my jaw (splint) and then got braces. I have been fine for almost 20 years.
you should consult your dentist or doctor…good luck!
